FAQ

How many generations of NFTs will there be?

There are three main generations of Undead Pixel Monks in total.

  • Generation 1 consists of 100 unique NFTs and was released on 14 August 2021.
  • Generation 2 consists of 200 unique NFTs and was released on 28 August 2021.
  • Generation 3 consist of 300 new NFTs. This means there are 600 Undead Pixel Monks in total.

Why are there so few NFTs?

This is what separates us from the many projects with 10K+ NFT collections. We want each monk to be unique and special. Because our Undead Pixel Monks are scarce, our hope is that they will increase in value over time for NFT holders.

Secondly, we want to give Undead Pixel Monks NFT holders a voice and make them an important part of the project. This is easier to do with a relatively small number of NFTs. If we had thousands of NFTs, the influence that individual holders would have on the project would be very limited.

There are 600 NFTs in the Undead Pixel Monks collection in total. There is a possibility that we will release more NFTs in the future, to highlight other characters and things in the Undead Pixel Monks universe, but these will be in a new collection, separate from the main collection that includes generations 1, 2 and 3.

Where can I buy them?

They are available on OpenSea, in our Undead Pixel Monks collection. They were sold for a set price at the time of release. You can filter on the Generation property to see only the NFTs for a specific generation.

This link already has the filter set to gen 3: https://opensea.io/collection/undeadpixelmonks?collectionSlug=undeadpixelmonks&search[sortAscending]=false&search[sortBy]=FAVORITE_COUNT&search[stringTraits][0][name]=Generation&search[stringTraits][0][values][0]=3

The average price for generation 3 is the same as it was for generations 1 and 2. The cheapest NFT in the collection is 0.01 ETH and the price increases for rarer traits. Common traits don’t add anything to the price. Uncommon traits add 0.01 ETH to the price, rare traits add 0.02, epic traits add 0.05, and legendary traits add 0.12. The only exceptions are the five Fabled Monks (this is the highest rank in the collection). These have a set price of 1.15 ETH, regardless of what properties they have. You can see all the different properties here.

Will there be a game?

Yes, we are working on two games simultaneously. The first one, Undead Pixel Monks Adventure, will be released in Q2 of 2022, and will be a single-player action-adventure game. We wanted to create a world and tell a story, and this format is the best way to do that. Thanks to our generation 1 NFT drop, we now have the budget that is required to finish the game. We are adding an extra pixel artist and a composer to our team to further improve what we already have.

The game will include an English and Dutch translation and will be released on PC (Steam). We are still exploring the possibilities of adding more languages and releasing it on multiple platforms.

Holders of our generation 1 NFTs (at the time of release) will receive early access to the full game for free.

The second project we are working on, Undead Pixel Monks Dojo, is a blockchain NFT fighting game. Players will be able to fight against undead monks and earn real passive income by defeating them.

What can the NFTs be used for?

The NFTs are collectibles first and foremost, and owning one makes you an important part of the Undead Pixel Monks community and the future of the project.

Generation 1 NFT holders will receive early access to the full version of our first game, Undead Pixel Monks Adventure.

One month after the release of this game, we will share 10% of the revenue earned from game sales with all generation 1, 2 and 3 NFT holders. For each NFT, the holder will receive 1/600 (there are 600 NFTs) of this percentage in ETH.

An additional 5% will be shared with all holders who have at least one NFT from each of the three generations. All holders who qualify will receive an equal part of this percentage in ETH, regardless of whether or not they own more than three NFTs.

For our second game, blockchain NFT fighting game Undead Pixel Monks Dojo, holders of our generation 1, 2 and 3 NFTs will receive an undead monk fungible token that can be used in-game. The properties of this monk, such as the rank, weapon and background, will be equal to the properties of the NFT. These properties will be randomized for everyone else who does not own an NFT. Click here for more information about how this works.

Being an Undead Pixel Monks NFT holder also gives you perks in our community, and there are exclusive giveaways for NFT holders regularly. We also regularly pick existing NFTs to give an important role in the game, with a name and backstory, and we will add the holder’s account name (at the time of release) to the credits section of the game.

Who are the team members?

Our team currently consists of three people, plus our Head Monks (moderators) in our Discord server. We’re currently in the process of recruiting an additional pixel artist and a composer before finishing our first game. Finally, we’re currently negotiating a potential partnership for our second project.

My name is Andrew Stewart and I’m the founder of No-Mind Games and the creator of Undead Pixel Monks. I’ve been developing games as a hobby for over 15 years, and have been playing games since I was four years old.

The idea for Undead Pixel Monks has been with me for many years. After working as a Technical Support Engineer and an International Project Manager at a tech company in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I’m now dedicating my time to creating and expanding the Undead Pixel Monks universe!

I have a lot of love for this project, and my goal is for Undead Pixel Monks to be a multimedia franchise that develops with the technology of the times, and that combines the things I enjoy the most: philosophy and mythology of the Far East, horror, video games, stories and crypto!
